- Macaroni, boiled – 1 cup
- Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
- Salt – 2 tsp or to taste
- Pissi kali mirch – ¼ tsp
- Mustard powder – ¼ tsp
- Lettuce, or some greens to spread on the plate for the salad
