Quick Rasam

Ingredients

  • Tomatoes – 4 large
  • Tamarind paste – 2 tbsp
  • Red Chillies – 5
  • Turmeric powder – 2 pinch
  • Garlic – 4 cloves
  • Curry Leaves – 4 stalk
  • Coriander leaves – 2 stalk
  • Mustard – 2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 4 tsp
  • Pepper powder – 2 tsp
  • Oil
  • Salt to taste

 

Steps to be followed

  • Add about 6 cups of water to the cut tomatoes along with turmeric powder, tamarind paste, pepper powder and salt and bring it to boil
  • Continue to boil till the tomatoes are cooked well on medium flame
  • Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard and cummin seeds and saute curry leaves, red chilles and garlic cut in small pieces
  • Pour this to the boiling rasam, garnish with chopped coriander leaves
